Corsciana
The men of Corsciana met in 1997 in San Luis Obispo, entrenched in higher learning. All their surroundings – indistinguishable students, sorority girls, shops with cheery sayings etched in granite, throw pillows – made them riot: blistering live shows, a timely move to Oakland, a recording date in Emeryville. Wedding the aggressive rhythmic punch of mid-90's Midwestern rock to a distinctly Californian melodic, interwoven guitar approach, Corsciana envelops the listener in a sound that is simultaneously fist-shaking and hummable.
