Bakelite
A project 6 years in the making. Bakelite started as a shotgun wedding - Brian and Chris were invited to CMJ and needed a band. José Márquez offered his services, and Bakelite was born.
It took the group a week to work up a live set. It took 6 years to record, mix, and master the results. The live set was close to 30 minutes of music created largely with guitar, bass, and drums. As the music evolved, the boys hoped to put together a virtual DJ set created largely with rock instrumentation under the studio microscope. The final results, like any good club mix, take the listener on a journey without ever leaving the dance floor.
